# Why Sign in with Ethereum

**TL;DR: To avoid asking you for a signature every 5 seconds.**

Sign in with Ethereum (SIWE) lets you log in to a web app using your Ethereum wallet, the same way you log in to web2 apps like your bank.

Turbine asks you to sign a SIWE authentication message once to log in. After that, the web interface fetches the status of your open orders periodically, without prompting you for a signature each time.
